WE WERE THERE: Tomorrowland 2010; Video interview with First State. Tomorrowland 2010 edition was certainly one to be recalled for the years to come, as one of the best editions so far. Two days with the highest calibre Dj’s, who were all in their best shape, as all of them offered unforgettable DJ sets, that rocked the crowds. I guess that all the Dj’s that performed in the various tents, will consider this experience as one of their best, as the crowd was really up for it, and wanted to have the maddest party of their life time! It’s impressive that Tomorrowland manage to draw visitors from all over the world, with thousands of people coming from countries even outside Europe. One of the tents that I frequently visited was the fantastic Trance Addict stage, including performances from Three Drives, First State, Airbase, Andy Moor, Solarstone, Lange and many more.
I was really impressed, and I guess the trance addict tent regulars were as well, with First State performance. A Magical Journey through the best progressive house meets trance beats and bytes, and as you might expect, the set included some of the highlights from his album “Changing Lanes”, which was released at the beginning of the summer, on Black Hole recordings.
We meet with Sander at the hospitality area for the Dj’s and artists at the backstage of the gigantic production that was Tomorrowland. Within the video interview, Sander talks about his first step in the world of Electronic music. He explains the reasons why he split up with his studio partner Ralph. He describes for us his album “Changing Lanes”, with plenty of enthusiasm and love. He recalls the crowd reactions to the album tracks, when he dropped them in his DJ sets. He confesses the styles of the music that have influenced him the most, and he take us on a virtual tour of his current studio set up, and he reveals his favourite music composition software. In addition, he talks about the forthcoming single ‘Cross the Line’, and the shooting of the video for this release in Chicago, USA. He explains why music videos are so important in the internet era, and why labels are investing so much money in them. Of course he announced the establishment of his 3 record labels via Black Hole recordings, and the releases that we expect to get from them in the coming months, with 12 releases already lined up for world domination. What is more, he explains where trance sound is heading, and talks with much passion about his Crossroads radio show, that you can listen to right here on 1Mix Radio. Certainly, an interview that includes plenty of exclusive information for you, and its worth checking out and enjoying.
