Progressive/Uplifting/Tech Trance/Electro Trance tunez of the week

Outstanding Progressive release of the week:

OneWorld - Green Bay [Avanti]
1-Original
2-High Motion Remix [10/10]

“One World, a new alias of Sander van Dien aka First State, brings us this mesmerizing new track by the title "Green Bay". Get ready for a production that takes the combination of a four to the floor beat with 3/4 measure melody programming to a whole new level. Musical purists will notice it immediately and especially during the break, when the beats aren't present, the chords and hook seem to take off in a completely different direction until the bass drums kick in again. It's a lovely and surprising twist to the known formula of modern trance/techno productions and it really pays off in "Green Bay". Let's not forget what it's all about and that's of course the truly warm and soothing nature of the entire track, 'cause the theme of the song stays with you for hours after listening to it. The ones on the dance floor will all love the break, 'cause the sounds of nature, the strings and synths just keep rising to build a real climax.”

Dimitri: Bubbly prog house meets trance style tune from Sander who officially is one of the strongest producers out there, and here he comes with his second OneWorld outing after the still unforgettable Isla Blanca & Lingus that if you don’t have in your collection you should check them out asap. Green Bay will capture immediately your attention when you listen in it for the first time in a club or in a radio show. It’s the type of tracks that set that optimistic and really positive mood in the atmosphere and you think that everything will be all right that is for me the ultimate goal of any aspiring producer. Of course if you are a DJ who plays mainly trance from 128-140 BPM range you cannot afford to compile your next performance without the original or the high noon mix. Original is that stronger one full with all the precious elements, the amazing break full of deep female and male breathing and of course that classic electronic kind of melody taken from the early electronic music . High noon is the more prog house version stripped down to its basics perfect for the new breed of proggers. Certainly, very beautiful release that can do wonders and opens our hunger for the forthcoming First State album. Avanti builds a superb profile release after release and wins a privileged spot in the progressive community.

Alex Kunnari & Heikki L – Rising [Magik Muzik]
1-Original
2-Daniel Wanrooy & Mark Green Remix [10/10 for the 2 mixes]
3-Existone Remix [8.5/10]

“Alex Kunnari and Heikki L no longer need an introduction. They both have earned their title in the world of trance. With this brand new single, "Rising", the two producers bring a super energetic, almost frantic, club slammer. Its trance with a big T and the continuously rising sweeps throughout track perfectly underline the title and create an irresistible urge to hit the dance floor and raise your hands during that towering break. For the DJs that would like to add a bit more tech trance to their live set there is Daniel Wanrooy & Mark Green remix; a version that definitely shaves off a bit of the rough edges of the original, but at the same time adds percussive, techy, drum programming and additional strings. Existone's version adds more bass and tearing synths and is for the darker live sets.”

Dimitri: Once again Magik Muzik does the Magik and discovers with careful A&R an absolute big club burner. I feel that this is the kind of the tune that is produced for the clubs and the Dj’s sets and maybe understates some of its energy in the radio shows and radio streams. The best environment to check out the releases is of course the club and not some cheap PC speakers. You get an idea in your favourite radio show and then straight to the dance floor. The original version of “Rising” is melodic groovy kind of trance with a break that all the elements support the big climax that will bring that Magik feeling of Rising to the top. Certainly, an underground trance track that is not so obvious but it can win its presence in any modern trance set and obviously is very different from any previous Alex and Heikki productions. The duo of Daniel and Mark unite once again to deliver a mix, which respects the original and repairs in a way some of the elements of the original that needed a Dutch retouch. Their mix is my choice as it sounds the one that audience will appreciate. Existone mix surprisingly goes for a Psy trance deep dark influenced mix that fans of that style will like but in my opinion the track needed an uplifting mix to boost it to the max.

Moonbeam & Tyler Michaud ft. Tiff Lacey – Openhearted  [Black Hole]
1-Original [Progressive Trance:10/10]
2-Swen Weber Remix [Electro-house mix:9/10]

“For this beautiful new title, the two Russian producers of Moonbeam teamed up with Tyler Michaud. The result is the absolutely captivating "Openhearted", which features the vocals of the fabulous Tiff Lacey. Her vocals have taken so many productions to the highest regions of the charts and that will most certainly happen with this one. Together with Tyler Michaud, Moonbeam have established a warm, soothing and deep vocal trance production that will send shivers down your spine; one that's absolutely tailor made for the upcoming spring and summer festivals. You won't be able to forget the chorus for the entire season! Swen Weber reworked the original and turned it into a brand new cut that's rougher, louder and perfect for the big sets that kick off at midnight. "Openhearted", a stunningly beautiful floor filler!”

Dimitri: Moonbeam and Tyler decision to co-produce a track is always very welcome as together they share the same production values and you know that the final composition will be complete. Of course, when you add with them the vocals of the busiest trance vocalist at the moment that she appears in countless productions, the always lovely and pure quality Tiff Lacey you know that you are having in your hands a very BIG club record. The original is the usual deep, really atmospheric, mesmerizing and mystical very well crafted production that you can expect from Moonbeam and with the addition of Tyler their beats becomes a bit tougher and edgier. It can only be labelled as a peak time choice for prog trance sets, good set starter for the uplifting trance posse. Swen Weber that for me was not the most obvious artist to have a take on the track produces an electro house big room version that even adds a very cold and distanced effect on tiff's vocals and making it perfect for big electro house sets. If I was responsible for this I would choose a trance artist to do a remix but I know that Black Hole loves nice surprises so Swen as a choice has a point here.”

DJ Eco pres. Pacheco – Staring At The Sea   [Flashover recordings]
1-Staring At The Sea (Original Mix)
2-Staring At The Sea (Masoud Remix) [10/10 for both]

“Based in New York this talented producer doesn’t need an introduction. His unique sound is recognized and appreciated by a wide range of fans. He does the magic again with the captivating track Staring At The Sea. Iran based DJ producer Masoud, the man behind Leave It All Behind, is on remix duty. Already supported by: Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond”

Dimitri: DJ Eco is certainly one of the busiest producers releasing music on many and various labels and doing remixes for the biggest names in the industry. The magic with him is that he always manages to produce something that stands out and definitely will not pass unnoticed in a DJ set. Staring at the sea captures in its title the whole essence of the tune. A summery groovy Ibiza kind of style, very warm trance track that has a very touchy and really strong synthy riff in the break that adds dynamism and energy to the whole faultless production and carries on in the main part. Masoud adds another great remix in his pocket with a very cool and epic prog electro trance style mix with gigantic break full of nice summery Spanish guitars I guess. It has that quality that you can expect from Flashover that never fails to impress. Both mixes are peak moments in any DJ set and already there is a lot of discussion in the trance forums about it and I can see the reason.

The Outstanding Trance release of the week:

Paul van Dyk ft Johnny McDaid - We Are One (Giuseppe Ottaviani mix) [10/10] [VANDIT]
“Twenty years after the peaceful revolution Paul van Dyk - the well known DJ, Artist and Producer has written "We Are One", an anthem to the fall of the Berlin Wall, which he has presented during the festivities at the Brandenburg Gate on November 9.
In the presence of heads of state from throughout the world, a historic celebration marking the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall took place in front of the Brandenburg Gate. The "soundtrack" for this unique event, at which a wall of massive dominos has been symbolically knocked down, is by none other than Paul van Dyk. "It was an incredible honour to be allowed to present my 'We Are One' anthem on November 9 against such a fantastic backdrop. The events of twenty years ago still move me very personally. I have invested a lot of time and emotion in this project," said the musician, who created "We are one" together with the singer Johnny McDaid.”

Dimitri: First of all the biggest respect to an EDM artist that had so much big honour to be part of a such historic and unforgettable event and erase the value and meaning of the whole EDM community. Amazing track lyrically that has a lot of meaning for all of us but most important for an artist growing within that 'crazy' division of the same city in two different worlds just for the sake of politics and ideologies that never manage to touch the people as the history proves it of course. Dichotomies in history are good for the elite political system but not for the common people who have more in common to each other. We are One becomes a huge anthem in the hands of   Giuseppe that takes it straight to the dance floor. His energetic style will satisfy any trance fan and will make even some cry while listening to it like happened with me. There is no dub if you want to avoid the vocals but the whole essences of the track are the rock indie vocals by Johnny. I would love to see this fully supported with additional mixes and of course from a PVD club mix. Let’s hope our prayers will be heard.

Paul Trainer – Soundscape   [VANDIT Digital]
1-Original
2-David Forbes Remix [10/10 for both]

“Becoming somewhat of a permanent fixture here on VANDIT Digital is one Paul Trainer. He may hail from the traditionally chilly highlands of Glasgow in Scotland but he's been turning up the temperature with his sizzling productions over the past year. Since his injection into the scene in 2008 Paul is stamping his authority as one of electronic dance music's rising talents. The pioneer of 'Face The Music' and more recently 'Totality' is back on VANDIT Digital with 'Soundscape'. This latest release is named after his monthly radio show broadcast over the airwaves of afterhours.fm and backed up with a remix by fellow Scot David Forbes. The recipe for Paul's latest thumper on VANDIT Digital is nothing short of mouth-watering. Crafting together a production bursting with energetic Trance flavours and a ripping beat Mr Trainer is holding no prisoners after putting together a melody that's edgy and aggressive. Joining Paul on his first VANDIT appearance this year is none other than David Forbes who needs little introduction. His history within the scene and past productions has made him one of the biggest producers within Trance. “

Dimitri: Massive 1st VANDIT digital release for 2010. Powerful uplifting trancers with a break to die for with a trance riff destined to be one of the most unforgettable moments in any DJ set and I would recommend the best moment to release any fireworks or fat lazer show in your event. Great big meaty riff that will ring a bell and will drive mad crowds in clubs, radio shows and big festivals. I believe that this is the best Paul production till to date and VANDIT is so lucky to have it. David Forbes mix works really well in the 135BPM mode and perfect for the Dj’s who don’t even think to play more than 136 BPM. The full release is right and exact to the point and with the addition of David mix the mission is accomplished for another top trance seller that is certainly worth it.

David Forbes meets William Daniel - Devils Theory [Tetsuo]
1-Original Club Mix
2-TnR Remix [10/10 for both]

“David Forbes has over 15 years experience in high quality electronic music. Working as a DJ he already played side by side together with lots of stars of the scene and successfully finished his Australian tour not long ago. His own productions are played and supported by all well-known DJs. His old and long-time friend and DJ partner William Daniel, who also writes for M8 magazine and who played in almost every well known "Scottish club night", joined him and created the groovy and impulsive track "Devils Theory". The feelings and experiences of both artists flow into it and came together. The result is a progressive Trance production full of energy, what pushes forward and takes closely everybody who normally does not dance, on the dance floor. The original mix: popping drums and percussions came together and combined with their strong synths get every party going. The TnR Remix also goes directly to the legs and thanks to the nice harmonies the heart of every Uplifting fan is blooming to”

Dimitri: Tech trance is the name of the game in this release and the two partners really do wonders in their co-production. Fat pumpy rumpy dirty tech trance beats and the electro-influenced dirty riff is present to drive crazy the trance addicts. It is the kind of full on club trance that is impossible not to move you in your radio studio or in your booth. First of all the good vibes will pass from the DJ and then this will be radiated to the clubbers and this tune does exactly that in more than 9 minutes epic length. Of course the TNR mix sounds much more tightly and to the point bringing everything together without hesitation or second thought. This mix is absolute killer and is already in heavy support by many trance Dj’s like Ferry Corsten. Talla is a historic figure in trance and this release proves his connection with the dance floor and his ability to choose the right tracks as a DJ and as a label owner too.

Chris De Seed Presents De Inspiration - Green Hills [Discover Dark]
1- Original Mix [10/10]
2- Tech Edit [9/10]

“Chris De Seed has been steadily carving a niche for himself over the last couple of years as one of the world’s leading tech trance producers. A string of quality productions has gained support from some of the industry’s leading players including Tiesto, Sander Van Doorn, Marco V and Eddie Halliwell. This two track E.P. on Discover Dark looks set to further catapult his status forward with two genre crossing mixes that are as much about techno as they are about trance delivering a head down groove and occasional hints of melody in equal measure. Tech Trance at its very best.....”

Dimitri: This is with one word absolutely “fantastic” and Discover Dark can be sure one that this is one of the big winter/early spring sellers. It’s so true that Chris manage to build his good reputation through his constant presence in various labels by delivering always something that has his identity stamp but at the same time appeals to a lot of people. Very powerful and special this is the kind of trance that I like to dance and feel passionate about. It’s full of atmosphere particularly when the sad and melancholic violin sound appears and after the dreamy break when the beat comes back you can be sure that your crowd will want to worship you. On the b side if it was a vinyl there is an additional very strong ‘tech edit’ that is a total different thing perfect as a peak time choice for tech trance sets. This will be in the spotlight for the next months. More Chris productions please…

Sean Truby Feat. Claire Willis - Waiting For You [Flux Deluxe]
1-Original Mix 10/10
2-Icone Dub Remix 10/10
3-Drama Remix 9/10
4-Dub Mix 9.5/10

“Sean Truby burst on to the scene in 2009 with a string of releases on some of the biggest labels of the genre including Kill the Lights, Vandit and Conspiracy.

His latest release sees him combine his melodic talents with the vocals of Claire Willis with epic effect together with a cool dub for those of you who prefer instrumentals. On remix duty we welcome back Icone for a much awaited excursion on the label and prequel to his next single release together with relative newcomer Drama, fresh from his critically acclaimed debut E.P. release on Eve Records.”

Dimitri: It is so cool after a long time since the latest release to welcome back one of the hottest uplifting trance labels Flux Delux. The new Sean production can be summed up as mind-blowing and the vocals by Claire are perfect for a night in a club at St Valentine’s day. Very sensitive and fragile are the kind of vocals you feel that sits well on the pumpy beats that Sean knows definitely how to compose in great style. Icone that is one of the brightest producers is back and his mix is so much to the point. It is just 6 minutes but really powerful and uplifting and you never feeling boring with it. Please more Icone releases in the future. Drama is the weaker remix in the package that has a thinner bass line and beat but with great use of superb vocals. From this mix I believe you can have a very nice radio edit perfect for Dream Dance or Future Trance compilations. Something for every taste in uplifting genre is included. It’s up to you to find you’re favourite.

Spencer – Trouble [Discover]
1-Original mix [8.5/10]

“As a promoter for one of Irelands clubbing success story's (Escape @ Liquid), Spencer was always going to have his ear to the ground when it comes to recognising quality music as he proved last year with his debut release on Discover Dark "Spark Plug". With "Trouble", Spencer still keeps it nice and tough with a driving bassline and plenty of stabs to keep you on your toes. He also adds the type of cool understated melody that we love at Discover and that makes this track perfect for the label.”

Dimitri: Spencer is here to stay and this track secures him a position in the pantheon of trance producers. Trouble is an energetic tech Trancer that is a bit short and in my personal opinion not fully developed. I would expect more twists and turns and a more obvious hook to grab its audience. Certainly, the single needs some remix support or maybe a longer edit along with this one. It’s more like a filler to keep the party going rather than the peak moment contender.

Nick Rowland – Galactica   [Discover white]
1-Original mix

“Since his first release back in 2002 Nick has worked with some of the biggest names in dance music, including Solarstone, Ian Betts, Paul Kershaw, Nick Sentience, Phil Reynolds, James Lawson, Rob Tissera, Nick Rafferty and many more. Recording for labels including Solaris, Deepblue, Six:Thirty, Nukleuz, Tidy, Y2K, Riot and now of course Discover. With such a strong production pedigree, our expectations were high and with Galactica he does not disappoint delivering a peak time melodic trance track with a strong groove and plenty of "Discover" balls!!”

Dimitri: Nick lately produces some very interesting material and that makes me always to wait with anticipation his next production. Galactica is a highly energetic trance with nice gated kind of synths in the break and very cool cinematic vocal that will sound fantastic in a loud sound system. The track manages without even trying to catch your attention and unintentionally to follow its rhythm and groove. A sure party winner in my opinion and absolutely peak time choice that will take us all in another galaxy for sure. It will be nice to have a remix to listen and another point of the view on the main lead.

Energy & Reminder - Access Denied / Emotions [Alter Ego Digital]
1- Access Denied – Original mix
2- Access Denied -Sonic Element Remix
3- Access Denied - Exclipse Remix
4- Emotions - Club Mix
5-ReOrder Remix [10/10 for the whole package]

“Alter Ego welcomes Energy & Reminder to the label with their deep and heavily powered 2 track combo. Access Denied and Emotions easily cement a solid club sounding EP that we were only too happy to release. First up in the EP is Access Denied which encompasses a power hungry beat intertwined with a euphoric breakdown, uplifting melody and hand raising climax. Emotions is the name of the second track in the combo and like the first it also bares a heavy club groove. This track is dominated by the huge German sounding riff that simply raises the roof during the peak hours. Sonic Element worked his magic , Canadian producer Exclipse takes his excellent rendition in an all new direction. ReOrder rounds off this release with his huge Emotion remix. “

Dimitri: Alter Ego umbrella of labels is the most consistent in the quality and the ability to put together so strong packages of originals and remixes that contemplates them in the best way. The originals are extremely fine with all the top elements that the trance community asks for in a track with Access Denied being the more accomplished from the two. Melodies and breaks that is rich with sounds and mystical atmosphere. The remixes are improving the originals considerably with Sonic element being the best of all as it is epic with that classic trance sound. Reorder produces a more prog mix close to that electro trance trend that is pioneered by Gareth Emery or Lange. Of course stands out along with Sonic Element version. Peak time choice and without any liability about the consequences after playing it.

Synthika - Powder Road EP [Echelon records]
1-Powder Road (Original Mix)
2-Lilacs (Original Mix) [10/10 for both]

“Synthika is an electronic music collaboration project launched in 2007 by two Finnish brothers and producers Tempo Giusto and Ima'gin. Synthika's production ranges from slower minimal to deep driving tech trance. Using the finest elements from several different genres, they call their style club progressive - always fresh and elaborate, their sound is distinct and melodies captivating while all of the production is essentially highly danceable club material. Powder Road : The main elements are the cut female vocal of the first part which sings a descending upbeat theme, and the power lead of the second part. Lilacs is more moody and melancholic. The track is based on a single lead theme which plays a simple broken chord motif until the song grinds to a halt in the breakdown.”

Dimitri: This is another fantastic trance package that keeps the echelon reputation at the highest highs and respect from the trance community. Both tracks are so powerful but at the same time very melodic, dreamy , sincere and perfect to transcend the club goes to another more trancy dimension. Powder road is deep tech track that in the break unleashes some top Trancy melodic riffs and then after the break the party goes the more uplifting way. Hands in the air you ll see in the club that you will play this or your money back. Lilacs is more melodic, sweet Proggy track that in the break unleashes some nice strange little riffs and even piano sounds to produce a very ethereal and break that you will love so much that you will talk about it with your friends for sure. Of course the tribal tech beats known from the Tempo Giusto solo productions are present here and make both distinctive and very unique. Keep the party grooving by playing one or both tunes in a night.

Steve Birch Feat, Within Temptation - The Temptation within [Spaced Out Recordings]
1 - Designer Violence Remix [Breakbeat]
2 - Original Mix
3 - Steve's Deeper Remix
4 - U4IC DJ'S Remix [10/10 for the whole package]

“Spacedout Recordings is proud to present the amazing Dutch gothic rock band Within Temptation. Courtesy of Universal records. The original mix is a fast past serious Trancer.
Steve takes a more deeper progressive approach to this 133bpm mix.U4ic Dj’s by utilizing some of the original elements, adding a driving saw bass, and new fx, making this a more melodic affair , perfect for dance floor euphoria. Designer Violence remix includes
choppy vocals to f*%ked up break beats, this is the perfect mix for those who like their dance dirty and different.”

Dimitri: Spaced Out continues its legacy with this release that definitely will send Dj’s or simple trance music collectors to faraway places and beyond. The production is so tight and atmospheric that help you to concentrate when you dance on its addictive groove and the excellent break that is dominated from the operatic vocals that add class and style in the whole production. Steve’s deeper mix starts with a fantastic intro perfect to put you in the right mood or the most appropriate to enter the DJ booth and start your DJ set in style. The best mix that rock my pants is U4IC DJs. Their remix is a separate genre on it self, what I term as nu- energy style that combines electronic music and disco influences. It is so well crafted that can even in some points leave you speechless. When the DJ will fade in the next track you will ask to play it again or your money back.

Steve Birch - Feed your imagination EP (Part 2) [Spaced Out Recordings]
1- Close Your Eyes (Alexander Van Hellsing Remix) [Breaks & Beats]
2-Snozzle Snout (Modrocker Remix) [House]
3-Snozzle Snout (Korruptors Wee Remix) [House]
4-Snozzle Snout (Designer Violence Remix) [Techno]
5-Snozzle Snout (Original Mix)[Trance]
6-Snozzle Snout (Steve's 2010 Re-Edit Club Mix) [Trance]
7- Close Your Eyes (Original Mix) [Trance]     [9/10 for the full package]
“ Kicking things off 2010 style is label owner Steve Birch with his vocal trance Snozzle Snout. With an amazing new re-edit, remixed, club mix(Try saying that when your drunk)
Full of energy, euphoria and a sprinkle of old skool piano & break beat, what better way to start the year On the flip is "Close your Eyes". Driven by the speaker rumbling sub and riffs that are designed to make your mind tingle. With a selection of remixes to complete the package from, Modrocker, Korruptor, Designer Violence and a dub step trance mix of close your eyes from Aleksander Van Hellsing. Early support comes from Fabio Stein and Christopher Lawrence”

Dimitri: Psy influenced trance release that sounds a bit old-fashion without meaning it negative. Steve's re-edit brings back memories from the past and goes to the big room tech trance style that wide range of Dj’s will appreciate. Of course, the package includes even a really stompy and meaty Breakbeat mix, a very passionate techno mix that takes the track in the deepest underground and even too more prog house mixes that I find a bit repetitive and without a definite catch point. For sure, a release that plays with various styles and successfully manages to keep them all above the average.

Jonathan Allyn - Fracture/Ricochet [Pharmacy]
1 Fracture - Original Mix
2 Fracture - Big Room Remix
3 Ricochet - Original Mix
4 Taking Sides - Sean J Morris Remix [10/10 for the whole package]

“Following on the success of Taking Sides, Jonathan Allyn returns to Pharmacy with his biggest release to date. Fracture and Ricochet are dance floor monsters with a proven track record of rocking parties around the globe. These tracks have already been road tested by some of the top jocks and have received the highest praise: continuous rotation in every set!
Label boss Christopher Lawrence picked Jonathan Allyn as the “Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2009” in the current DJ Magazine Top 100 and for good reason.. Jonathan Allyn makes great tracks with rock solid production, infectious melodies and a pounding kick. As one of the US’s top trance DJs, Jonathan knows what works on the dance floor and he puts that knowledge to use when he works in the studio.. creating tracks that don’t just sound good but play good on a big sound system.”

Dimitri: Pharmacy releases follow the pure Psy trance influences and for that reason manage to build a considerable convoy of followers who support each release all over the globe. All tracks follow a more Psy trance recipe with acid sounds but very melodic at the same time employing tougher bangier beat and addictive riffs that fully come on their own in the main part. All tracks included in this EP are strong contenders to choose in any set without any fear of disappointment. The perfect DJ tools for dance floor domination and for me the best pharmacy release for a long time now. Fracture Big Room mix and Ricochet are my favourites as I find them perfect for any uplifting set.

John '00' Fleming & The Digital Blonde - Solomate/Sunburn   [Joof]
1- Solomate
2- Sunburn   [10/10 for both]

“It’s been an amazing year for this duo, we saw the second part of their artist album ‘Heaven & Hell’ released on a double CD & USB stick. Who can forget their remake of Jean Michel Jarre’s classic ‘Oxygene’ and now we see this absolutely breathe taking EP. They can’t seem to put a foot wrong. Sunburn was inspired by their live performance at India’s Sunburn festival in Goa. Shortly after landing off the plane, they made this single with the Indian’s in mind. Solomate takes things dark, very very dark with this haunting Progressive monster”
Dimitri: I’m not a fanatic Psy trance friend but not an enemy too or something that I hate when I listen people playing it loud in their cars. Actually, despite deploying more Psy trance influenced kick drums and beats, personally, I find both tracks very strong once again and I feel that Joof will become in this year an even stronger and talk about label. The sounds and the melodies used on both tunes are warm and summery perfect to keep your ear on the loud speakers. A very good EP to follow the huge success of the recreation of Jean Michel Jarr “Oxygen” that got some top support from variety of artists and good sales performance.

Chris Cortez – ASHA [Captivate]
1-Original
2-Dub(2 AM mix) [10/10 for both]

“Chris Cortez hails from Holland and is born and raised in Amsterdam. He has played all the mayor dance festivals in Holland and is the resident and driving force behind Trance Nation (NL). Which holds parties with the likes of Judge Jules, Sander Van Doorn, Eddie Halliwell, San and many more. His latest release FSOT got licensed to Ministry of Sound and gained huge support amongst the trance crowd. Now Fektive has the follow up with his brand new single ASHA. It comes in to flavours; an original and a more banging 2 AM mix. This is tech trance at its finest.”

Dimitri: Captivate cannot go wrong and this single is a proof. Power banger with a lot of energy and really catsy distorted electro kind riff to keep the mind-boggling and the body jacking on this top piece of tech trance pleasure. Both versions run on 130 BPM and will be your most obvious choice if you decide to bring your tech trance set in a big euphoric climax. They work like a treat and have the word deadly powerful peak time guns all over them. Dub-2am mix is my favourite as it is rougher and tougher and it gives a sense of faster pace too without changing speed from the original.

FRONT & Rigel – Antares  [Total Digital]
1-Original
2-Viceverse
3-Etnosphere [10/10 for the whole package]

“Here we have one of our favourite trance producers: FRONT! The man with a mission teamed up with Paul Rigel to produce a new powerful Total Digital single for all trance lovers.
Antares is a very original piece of work from these talents. The package also consists with 2 remixes from Argentina guys Viceverse and Etnosphere.

Dimitri: Once again Front delivers the goods in a very nice driving uplifting Trancer in an original mix that is straight to the point, full on banging trance with the atmospheric break that we all we are all waiting for to happen and we are not betrayed at all. The two mixes included support the original in the best possible way. While Etnosphere mix is pretty similar to the original on the other hand Viceverse with the added guitar melody that runs through the track adds a big summery Ibiza feel to it and in my opinion is the best version in the whole package. The strings, the whole arrangement add that epic anthemic feel to it. Music is all about feelings and emotions and all three mixes contain plenty of them without overdoing it for the sake of being emotional and at the end to sound so cold and distanced.

Immoral Monkeys - Yeah Right! / Nightshift [Proxoz Recordings]
1-Yeah Right! (MLV Deep Mix)
2-Yeah Right! (Original Mix)
3- Nightshift (Original Mix) [10/10 for the whole release]

“Proxoz Favourite artists back again with a MASSIVE EP that been hammered by Above & Beyond back in 2009. This release has been waiting in the queue for a while and now its finally going to see the light. The Immoral Monkeys approaches us this time in an unusual way leaving their peak uplifting sound behind and going into a more techy melodic sounds which caught many people’s ears. On the remix side of release we have Mr Maor Levi under his new alias MLV. I'm sure there is no need to tell you about this cool dude because we all know him and specially from his previous remix on Proxoz, BUT this time what we have here is a true killer.”

Dimitri: This is what I call tech trance with prog influences at its very best. Two massive originals from the top Immoral Monkeys that never fail to impress and despite their dirty grungy bassline and the electro trance kind of beat , they have added on top some very strong melodies to push the tracks to the next level. Very uplifting sounds but at the same they never become cheesy or overexcited. Perfect for tech trance sets and lovely too for the beginning maybe of an uplifting set. MLV goes to a deeper more twisted but still melodic direction and he delivers a remix that has personality and its own identity. One of the strongest Proxoz tunez for sure that finally is out and certainly, the wait was totally worth it.

Evgeny Bardyuzha – Hylea [Neuroscience Deep]
1-Deep Sound Remix [8.5/10]
2-Original Club Mix [10/10]
3- Vullcan Remix [9/10]
4-Cramp Remix [10/10]
5-Rave CHannel Remix [9/10
6-Broning Remix [8/10]
7-Eryo Remix [8/10]

“Evgeny Bardyuzha is a regular feature here at Neuroscience. His tracks regularly gain the support of DJs such as Markus Schulz, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and Eddie Halliwell, thanks to his distinct and unique production style. Back in October of 2009, Evgeny released his debut artist album, 'Point of No Return', which received a host of excellent reviews. Now, in 2010, we bring you 'Hylea'...'Hylea' is one of the strongest tracks from the album and it was an obvious choice for a full release with remixes. After teaming up with Russian website PromoDJ.ru, we launched a remix contest, which well and truly delivered on the goods. It was hard work, but we managed to narrow it down to six winners including, Cramp, Vullcan, Rave CHannel, Broning, Deep Sound and Eryo. In addition, Evgeny has reworked the original album mix in to a DJ friendly club mix.”

Dimitri: Evgeny is a big talent and his album was crowned as “The Album of the Week”. The reason was pretty obvious as all the tracks were highly creative, experimenting with sounds far away from any conventions, really artistic but still perfect for the dance floor. Here he comes with a top single from the album. The package of the remixes needs to check it out as it includes some fine deep mixes that rework its main theme in surprising ways but the two remixes that I can stop put on repeat mode are the original club mix that is very anthemic and beautiful. Its driving and atmospheric and most importantly really sensitive and sincere piece of music. Secondly, Cramp mix is the more upbeat one perfect for any DJ who loves to play from 128 BPM till 135 BPM. Tribal beats and fantastic break with big climax are the elements that you can expect from Cramp. Another quality release that waits the eclectic trance fans to discover it.

A.R.D.I. - Nine & Six EP [E Musica Digital]
1-A.R.D.I. - Illusion Wave (Original Mix)
2-A.R.D.I. - Flying (Feat. Bastian Salbart) (Original Mix) [10/10 for both]

“Next up on é música a great EP from Polish newcomer A.R.D.I. First up is 'Illusion Wave', which is full of energy from the word go! A.R.D.I. builds upwards on a solid foundation, with a strong and lively percussion, before introducing some great melodic elements. As the track drops for the break, we're introduced to some tasty piano elements, reminiscent of Daniel Kandi's remix of 'Fragile' by Kiholm. A great track here! Finishing off the EP is 'Flying'. Here, A.R.D.I. teams up with Sebastian Salbart and they opt for a deeper trance sound. However, the results are just as pleasing.”

Dimitri: This EP is a big surprise for me. I didn’t know at all the name of the producers so I was not sure what to expect. Sometimes because of time restrictions, we tend to overlook releases that do not include familiar names. I’m glad that I checked this EP with attention and both tracks caught me instantly. Both are   quite short around 6 minutes but straight to the point without repeating themselves and introducing consistently new sounds. Euphoric Balearic Trancer that does what the name suggests by flying our imagination through illusions. From the two tracks, I feel more affiliated and closer to Flying but Illusion Wave is pure quality as well. I feel that this new producer is here to stay and in the near future will see him climb to the top if he is determined of course.

Shaun Ansari - M / Luxuria EP [Upbeat Music]
1- M (Original Mix)
2- M (Cylum & Velden Remix)
3- M (ReOrder feat. Dave Deen Remix)
4- Luxuria (Original Mix)
5- Luxuria (Suncatcher's 'Wave Motion' Remix) [10/10 for the whole package]

“After his last track Fury picked up support including M.I.K.E, Pedro del Mar, Manuel le Saux, Mark Eteson and Graham Gold among many others, and with remixers lining up to stamp their style on Shaun's original tracks, we simply couldn't wait to let his next masterpiece EP loose on the world. First up is 'M' with its thundering basses, deadly rising synth line and a haunting piano. First on remix duties are the duo of Cylum & Velden, second up we have another Upbeat artist ReOrder, who appears this time with the additional input of Dave Deen. The pair combines to use a shorter set of melody notes, a whistled sub-melody and a crashing breakdown. For the second track of the EP, 'Luxuria' showcases a slower melody and fuzzy synth lead with a rising tone through its breakdown and a snappy kick back into its mighty crescendo. Rounding things off with the remix is the fantastic Suncatcher, who brings to the release a faster paced version and a classic trance atmosphere with plucky lead guitar tones.”

Dimitri: Shaun Ansari certainly has the X-Trance Factor to compose and produce very nice melodic tunes. The original mixes of M/Luxuria are driving uplifting tornados ready to takeoff. The strong originals serve as the best base for the 3 remixers to enter the arena and do their magic. All three are doing an excellent job to revive the original versions and in some cases they even produce better remixes than the original. Cylum and Velden unleash   a really epic hands in the air remix. Reorder and Dave co-operation is as always to the exact point with a remix that all the details are catered for and finally Suncatcher delivers an anthem in his   own unforgettable driving style with that electro-influenced bassline.

Trilucid - We Are One [Upbeat Music]
1-Original Mix
2-Jeremy Rowlett Remix
3-Liquid Vision's Upbeat Remix
4-Alex Robert Clairvoyance Mix
5-Craze C Remix
6-Vol Deeman Remix           [10/10 for the full package of mixes]

“Andy Tau returns to the helm once again for our next release with another slice of perfectly crafted dream trance under his alias Trilucid. In providing the blueprint for this stunning package, Andy's original mix brings the lights up to full beam with a brilliantly simple melody which is as soft and warm as it is emotional with killer piano elements and rising soft synth.
Bringing the first remix, Jeremy Rowlett gives a progressive dusting to the original. Next up to apply his magic touch is Liquid Vision who turns the original into a remix which lifts the pace of the original into classic progressive trance territory. Rising star Alex Robert visits Upbeat from his regular releases on Red Force and Just Peak to bring a euphorically-tinged stomper with an infectious groove .Newcomer to Upbeat, Craze C comes over from Bonzai bringing a fast-paced remix with deep and solid kicks. Finally, trance dynamo Vol Deeman defects from Redux to complete this package with a full-throttle fire breathing monster of a remix.”

Dimitri: Andy has established himself as one of the brightest talents in the trance scene and here he comes with a very nice Trancer on board perfect to play in a set and instantly inject it with high quality values. Not easy thrills for cheap and amusement that will last for a short time. Andy rather goes for deeper and really classy kind of tracks. Of course the Upbeat posse invites some serious heads out there to do the usual brainstorming and deliver their goods and really transform it. Vol Deeman is the mix that tingles my toes as it has all the elements that I love in a big euphoric tune that is really melodic and driving and full on uplifting in a formula that success is guaranteed. Craze c mix has good feeling to it but I m not keen on that scratching effects when the track comes to its climax as it loses the nice atmosphere that builds and really grows on you. Alex mix is a nice prog trance - prog house hybrid that works in a very playful and optimistic way the original melody. A package worth checking out and finding the appropriate mix for you.

Suprano – Tranceutopia [Silent Shore Records]
[10/10 for the 3 mixes]

“The fact that music unites nations, people, and everyone around the world is inevitable. Silent Shore Records bring you release by amazing talent straight from the Middle East, country with long history, Iran: Mahdi Asadi a.k.a. Suprano. In his tune Tranceutopia straight from the beginning to the end Suprano takes you to never-ever-land where your dreams come true. Powerful kick and Bass and amazing pluck work in the build up will take you attention and you are full of expectation about what comes next! Breakdown like ripped from the fairy tale will take to your deepest dreams that you would not want it to stop. Chorus will move your body even if you force it to not to. Tranceutopia comes with Mindful Innovations and Traces Traxx feat. Dave Cold Mixes.”

Dimitri: Another very exciting new release on Silent Shore records that release after release build a really positive image in the market and even more well known Dj’s will be supporting the future releases for sure. All 3 versions are uplifting trancers at its finest with all the elements that we wish for. The original follows the Ibiza trance style direction with a lead that recalls Chicane or Thrillseekers sound. From the two very well produced remixes I vote for the Mindful Innovations mix that brings together the top elements of the original and push them to the highest level by delivering a highly addictive version. Worth to check it out and make this part of your DJ set.

Progressive House/ Tech House/ House tracks

Sebastian Krieg - Brooklyn [Pinkstar Records]
1-Original Mix 2-Roman F. Mix
3-Chill Out Mix [10/10 for the full release]

“A real masterpiece of a Tech House Minimal monster from SEBASTIAN KRIEG is coming your way presented by Switzerland's premium house label PinkStar Records.
Brooklyn is a Tec bomb and a half including a minimalistic remix by ROMAN F. and a loungey Chill Out mix by Sebastian himself. The very first release of this busy producer, songwriter and DJ, who's also known with his successful project "Shik Stylkø" (together with his fellow Roman F.) is a terrific start into the new year and more productions and remixes are already scheduled to be released later this year. Sebastian started his career in 1999 and has since then worked in much collaboration and released a wide variety of different releases for labels such as Soul Camp Recordings, Dubmental Records, Brickhouse Records and Jee Productions. His remix contributions were released on famous labels such as M1 Recordings, Deep Culture, Soulfuric, Big City Beats, Defected and many more.”

Dimitri: This is another tech house stormer that will be in many well-known Dj’s playlists in the coming months. The reason is simply the ability of that track with its minimal construction to move big crowds because of the very effective groovy lead line and big riff I will say in the break. The original mix follows the mellow prog house vibe with superb summery kind of melody in the main part after the big break while the remix goes the more electro house way that is perfect for any electro house party. Of course and this is still very melodic as well but much more energetic and housey. The chill out mix is a surprise but nice addition that deserves to end up in big lounge-chill out compilations. It will be cool to have an addition vocal mix as well.
