Post Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 178 February 18th/19th 201
Hi again,

I mentioned several times that I am always happy about new friends on Facebook, I love to talk with you about music and what you would like to listen. And every now and then I am getting some ideas what to spin in my show - a couple of days ago my Facebook friend Calum posted a track I did not know before and I could not stop to listen to the song for the rest of the day… Australias dance music duo Pnau latest release is the emotional and uplifting single “The Truth” from their upcoming new album “Soft Universe“. This is huge! Thanks Calum (and Pnau of course) for this song!

I almost missed to spin a song that has already been released in December, but I think its not too late to introduce you to Tristan Garners collaboration with vocalist Polina called “Fallin“. Infectious and anthemic. 10/10!

The retro this weekend is coming from Switzerland, Rico Cabreras “Hot Nights” samples a track that made it on No.3 in Germany and No.4 in Switzerland in 1985 called “Cold Days, Hot Nights” by Moti Special, a German New Wave band with a keyboard player from Romania who later had world wide success with a project called Enigma - Michael Cretu.

The Tracklist:
1. Nicole Scherzinger - Dont Hold Your Breath (The Alias Club Mix)
2. John Mayer - Half Of My Heart (Paul Farah Club Mix)
3. Mariospray & Morris Corti Ft. Eleonora Rossi - Follow Me (Original Extended Mix)
4. Mario Chris - In The Disco

The Retro Track
5. Rino Cabrera - Hot Nights (Original Club Mix)

6. Tristan Garner Ft. Polina - Fallin (Original Mix)

DJs Favourite This Week
7. Pnau - The Truth (Sam La More Remix)

8. Dizkodude - Carry You (Club Mix)

10. J. Latif - I Wanna Go There (Stonebridge Mix)
11. Santiago Cortez - If You Wanna Dance (True Beat Clubmix)
12. Cedric Gervais Ft. Mya - Love Is The Answer (DJ Ortzy & Mark M. Remix)
13. Fahmy & Samba Ft. Peyton - When I Fall (Soulshaker Remix)

Hi Weekenders,

Its the last February weekend already - we are on our way to springtime here in Europe! Cant wait, it is still very cold in Germany at time… Enough! What we need here is to warm up the weekend with strong tracks from great artists - here you go!

Sharams new single “Fun” was written by Chris Martin of Coldplay, who described it as the best song hed ever written, Sharam discovered the track on an unreleased Natalie Imbruglia album. Immediately spotting the dancefloor potential, Sharam reworked the song into an epic dance track which gained the approval of Coldplay and looks set to be an international crossover hit.

Barbars Tuckers 2000 release with Darryl DBonneau “Stop Playing With My Mind” was one of her greatest hits so far (a No.1 in the U.S. Hot Dance Club Songs charts and No.17 in the U.K.). Eleven years old and already a dance classic! eSQUIRE remixed the track nicely now, his “DiscoLoop Remix” is my favourite this weekend.

The latest Noel G called "I Won't Stop" sticks like glue in my ear, Alan Connor is back together with Beltek on the remix for "Stone Cold", Kaskade's latest single "All That You Give" got a beautiful remix by Jusitn Michael and Kemal and the uplifting “Cant Stop The Boogie” , a collaboration of PDG (stands for Pineapple or Pop Dance Group, got these two versions while researching…) and production team Anniemouse, is the last song of the show this time. I am sure that the funky remix by former Bassmonkey Danny Bond aka Gadgetman will be enjoyed by all of you, so tune in again this weekend and dont miss a minute!

The Tracklist:
1. Noel G Feat. Moises Modesto - I Wont Stop (Original Club Mix)
2. Gold ‘N Chic Ft. Scarlet Blue - Cool Girl (Extended Mix)
3. DJ Wallas, Gabriel B & Morph - Melody (Tim Sanchez Classic Club Remix)
4. Alan Connor - Stone Cold (Beltek Club Mix)
5. Sample Minds Ft Nanchang Nancy - All Over Me (Extended Mix)

DJs Favourite This Week
6. Barbara Tucker - Stop Playing With My Mind (eSQUIRE 2011 DiscoLoop Remix)

7. EDX - Embrace (Original Mix)
8. Sharam - Fun (Balearic Club Mix)
9. Demark & Manna Vs. Mind Electric Feat. MaxC - Wild Out (Original Mix)

The Retro Track
10. Criminal Vibes Ft. Larry - Another Brick In The Wall

11. Kaskade Feat. Mindy Gledhill - All That You Give (Justin Michael & Kemal Remix)
12. PDG Vs Anniemouse - Cant Stop The Boogie (Danny Bonds Gadgetman Club Mix)

“Moving On Up” - already 18 years old, a UK No.2 in 1993 and the only single to chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 reaching #34 for British house act M People. Still a fantastic song. The 2011 cover version by Roselle is the retro track this weekend - nice one!

I always a huge pleasure having a new song on air for the very first time, espacially when the song is coming from the Bassmonkeys! This time they teamed up with Soulshaker and a new kid on the block, Tao Hypah on vocals for “Eyes On You“.

Out now on Spinnin Records: awesome big room sound with superb vocals - Nadia Ali came together with Las Vegas native Starkillers and Italys Alex Kenji for the fantastic “Pressure“. My favourite this weekend!

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 181 March 11th/12th 2011

Springtime is on the way in my part of the world - I can already smell it! So looking forward… But the nights are still cold and a good warm up is still essential, hope you will join me again this coming weekend for the official party kick-off!

Do you like pop remixes? I know that they are not for everyone, but I got some quality remixes lately and I think you will enjoy them too even if you usually dont do: the english pop-rock band McFly as example got the Club Junkies treatment on their latest single “Thats The Truth“, check out british boyband The Wanted and the Steve Smart and Westfunk remix on “Gold Forever” or the excellent DJ Berrie Club Mix for Chris Brown and “Yeah 3x“. And last but not least Dave Audés remix for Jennifer Hudsons “Where You At” made it into the show - loving her vocals, she is absolutely brilliant! 10/10!

My favourite this weekend is coming from Bari, Italy: DJ and producer Nowak released a wonderful, melodic piece of house music called “I Feel Like A Child“. Feel good music the way I love it! My favourite this time.

The retro saw the light of the world in 1995, Edward Greene aka Gusto has written and produced one of the most famous House tracks of all times: remixed and covered many times: “Discos Revenge“. All versions and re-versions contains samples of “Groovin You” performed by Harvey Mason. Check out Stefano Noferinis 2011 version.

Hi Weekenders,

Disco is not dead! A 3 CD release by Hed Kandi proves that Disco is still very alive! From original Disco anthems, to Disco House Classics through to Disco House Remixes, this is what you will find on the forthcoming HK compilation called “Back To Disco“. Two classic songs made it into the show: Candi Statons “When You Wake Up Tomorrow“(on the remix Jay Santi), originally released in 1979, and “Jump To The Beat” by Stacy Lattisaw, a U.K. No.3 in 1980 and remixed by Dan Clare.

The last time that you heard the very cool Italian production duo that is Donati & Amato was probably last year when they released their excellent club hit in collaboration with ATFC entitled ‘Thrill Me‘, They are back now presenting their newest project, ‘Like An Angel‘, a much more progressive affair than that which we are used to from D&A.

Chicago based singer Wayne Taylor began his music career at the age of six performing in school musicals and concerts. At the age of nine he entered his first talent show. He won first place in the show singing and dancing to Michael Jacksons “Billie Jean“. The overwhelming response of the crowd is what made him say, “This is what I want to do with my life.” Since then he continued to sing. His second release on Georgie Porgies Music Plant Records is called “Where Would I Be“, the Anthemic House Mix sounds like a Moto Blanco Remix - maybe better than that… My favourite this weekend.

The Tracklist
1. Quembino & Daniel Harrison - Gotta Get Away (Original Mix)
2. Martin Wright Feat. Tara Chinn - Addicted To The Chemistry (Love Assassins Remix)
3. Donati & Amato - Like An Angel (Extended Vocal Mix)
4. Joli Dragon & Muza Yakuza - Cha Cha Cha (Original Mix)
5. Fratty Ft. Sharon May Linn - You Got The Love (Marco Fratty Extended Mix)
6. Armin Van Buuren Ft. Laura V - Drowning (Avicii Remix)
7. Bertani & Coly - Rocking On The Dancefloor (Bertani & Coly Original Mix)

The Retro Track
8. Candi Staton - When You Wake Up Tomorrow (Jay Santi Remix)

9. Scarlett Fever - Black & White (Cahill Club Mix)

DJs Favourite This Week
10. Wayne Taylor - Where Would I Be (Anthemic House Mix)

11. Garrett & Ojelay - New Jersey Groove (Jacked Up G&O Mix)
12. Stacy Lattisaw - Jump To The Beat (Dan Clare Extended Remix)

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 183 March 25th/26th 2011

Hey Weekenders,

like last week we'll having a Disco House weekend again - plenty of Disco grooves and retro tracks made it into the new show. We will start with a Kim Carnes classic from 1985, Guenta K Ft. Kane covers “Crazy In The Night“. 100% party proof… And the official retro is a UK #13 from 1979, “Is It Love Youre After” by US Soul/Funk/Disco Band Rose Royce, remixed by Garrett & Ojelay for the new Hed Kandi compilation “Back To Disco“.

I am sure you know UK DJ and producer Liam Keegan because of his numerous remixes he made for artists like Bruno Mars, Pink, Britney or Lady Gaga just to name a few. This weekend on air for the first time: a original Liam Keegan track, unreleased so far, “Ive Never Felt” samples a Stephanie Mills classic from 1979, “Never Knew Love Like This Before“.

My favourite is coming from German Disco/Filter House producer Joey Chicago, loving his new release on 4Disco Records “Into Your Eyes” - although I have no idea which track he samples… Can someone help please? This excellent new Disco House track is coming with several strong remixes, but I think the original is the best.

Besides of all the Disco grooves and retros there is more of course… Alex Gaudinos new smash “What A Feeling” with Kelly Rowland on vocals as example, or maybe you are ready for some Gaga? You will get her and a perfect Bimbo Jones remix… Enjoy!

The Tracklist:
1. Guenta K Ft. Kane - Crazy In The Night (Extended Version)
2. Alex Gaudino Ft. Kelly Rowland - What A Feeling (Im Still In Love Club Mix)

4. Lady Gaga - Born This Way (Bimbo Jones Club Mix)
5. DJ Ross Ft. Sushy - U Got The Love (Alternative Extended Mix)
6. Liam Keegan - Ive Never Felt (Original Mix)
7. Fatblock - Forever Love (Original Mix)
8. Fonzerelli Ft. Digital Glitter - Feel The Love (Extended Radio Mix)
9. Laera - Lets Dance Tonight
10. Sister Sledge - You Fooled Around (Garrett & Ojelay Remix)

DJs Favourite This Week

12. Sanya Shelest Ft. Jane G - Holding Remote (Yuriy Poleg Remix)

Hi Weekenders,

The first April weekend starts with plenty of sun and temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius / 70 degrees Fahrenheit here in Germany. Awesome. Time for a nice barbeque and uplifting music! More Disco House is on the way, as example 2 more tracks from the new Hed Kandi “Back To Disco” compilation. The retro track is a remix of “Thinking Of You” by Sister Sledge, a UK Top20 song from 1984 and you will also listen to Candi Statons smash hit “Young Hearts Run Free“, released in 1976 and remixed by Dan Clare.

Back again - after their success with “Love You Seek” / “Seek Bromance” Samuele Sartini and Amanda Wilson came together again for a new song that will definitely be heard everywhere this summer. “Back Again” is the name of their new song - simply excellent!

My favourite the week is a wonderful melodic prog house track called “Piece Of Heaven“, coming from Italy by Promise Land (Ranucci & Pelusi) with the help of London based Cozi Costi on vocals. You might know her from David Guettas “Baby When The Light“. Simply beautiful.

Hi Weekenders,

A bank holiday weekend in Germany and many other countries worldwide - enough time to enjoy some music and dance for almost everyone I hope! You will get a lot of Retros this weekend, the first one is coming from Poland by a new talented DJ and Disco House producer called Koe, who took an old record from his parents and used the sample to create a funky Disco track called “Sweetheart“. Still dont know the original song, maybe something from the Dazz Band? Anyone out there who can help? mixgeselle@gmail.com
The next one is a Steve Wonder classic from 1982 sampled by Camouflage. “Do I Do” reached #10 in the UK and peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US.

You want more? No problem: UK based duo Funky Truckerz made a remake of the classic D Train funky tune from 1981 “Youre The One For Me” and Loverush UK delivers a massive new remix of Mory Kantes “Yeke Yeke” from 1988.
My favourite this week is already 33 years old and is coming from one of the big names of the Disco area - Cerrone. The french drummer, singer-songwriter and producer sold more than 30 million albums and is still releasing new tracks and remixes of his classic tracks like “Look For Love” from his album “Cerrone IV - The Golden Touch“. The 2011 update is perfect, some disco mixed with electro elements - will do great on todays dancefloors!

Another excellent song is coming from a former NBA Basketball professional, Rony Seikaly started a new carreer as a DJ/producer after he retired a couple of years ago. “The World Is Beautiful” is the name of his new song. I take a look out of my window and agree…

The Tracklist:

The Retro Track
2. Discogalaxy Presents Koe - Sweetheart (Original Mix)

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 191 May6th/7th 2011

Hello Friends,

While I am writing this, I am listening on the radio about a lot of new snow in Poland. Come on! It is May already! We all want spring or better summer temperatures! In case you wont get them this weekend: let the first May edition of the Weekend Warm Up with plenty of funky vocal and disco house tracks warm you up. And if you have nice weather in the forecast? Tune in too, you dont want to miss these excellent songs:

The always wonderful Katherine Ellis teamed up with the scottish duo The Studiopunks to produce a very catchy Vocal House track called “Feed The Fire“. Almost all of the remixes are worth to give them a spin in the show, but my favourite this weekend is the very radio friendly Original Mix. 10/10!

“Silly Love Songs” is a song written by Linda and Paul Mc Cartney performed by Wings. It was a No.1 in the US and No.2 in the UK in 1976, one of more than a dozen US and UK Top Ten singles Paul McCartney had with his band Wings. DJamSinclar from Uruguay (with Agent Stereo from Chile on the remix) samples this classic on his Disco House production called “I Love You“.

More retro samples are coming from the Bingo Players (”Piano In The Dark” by Brenda Russels) and Illmatic (”Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel” by Tavares).

Hope your weekend will be a hot and sunny one… Enjoy!

The Tracklist:
1. Wynter Gordon - Til Death (Wawa Remix)

DJs Favourite This Week
2. Katherine Ellis & The Studiopunks - Feed The Fire (Original Mix)

3. Digital 96 - Waiting For The Moon (Club Edit)

5. Dionne Bromfield Ft. Lil Twist - Foolin (Bellatrax Mix)
6. Nick Fiorucci Ft. Selena Gittens - I Can Give (Junior Family Club Mix)
7. Chanelle - Lift Me To Heaven (TSOP - The Sound Of Philadelphia Club Mix)

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 191 May 13th/14th 2011

Hi Weekenders,

Summer is on the way here in Europe, Ibiza is preparing for another party season already and the Hed Kandi crew has chosen “Discos Revenge” as their theme for 2011s parties at Es Paradis, one of the Mega Clubs at Ibiza. The soundtrack for this party is coming from Hed Kandis Glitterarti. They are bringing back to life “Discos Revenge“, Gustos big hit from 1995. On the remix: Garrett & Ojelay.

I am sure you will hear my favourite this week at Ibiza if you will visit, it is one of the biggest tracks I listened to in 2011. Lewis Dene (Solitaire) says in the Tillate Magazine “…expect this one to wow the crowds all summer long” and made it his track of the week too. Enjoy some brilliant Disco House by production duo Redroche from Canada with a wonderful Moné on vocals, it is “All I Need“!

The retro this week is a Belinda Carlisle classic reworked by Contras Ft. Joan Kolova. “La Luna” was a Top 10 in Switzerland and Top 20 hit in Germany and Australia in 1990.

The Tracklist:
1. Andrea Rosario - We Own The Night (Wideboys Club Mix)
2. Rudeejay & Freaks Jam Feat. Jenny B. - The Rhythm Is Magic (Raf Marchesini Remix)
3. Katherine Ellis & The Studiopunks - Feed The Fire (eSQUIRE Remix)
4. Jeremy De Koste Feat. Lary - Forever (Twill Remix)
5. Yuksek - On A Train (Extended Mix)
6. De Lano Feat. Francisco - Outta Control (Spanish Extended)

DJs Favourite This Week
7. Redroche Ft. Mone - All I Need (Original Mix)

The Retro Track
8. Contras Feat. Joan Kolova - La Luna (Extended Mix)

9. Sylvia Tosun - World Keeps Turning (Bellatrax Club Mix)
10. Hed Kandi Glitterarti - Discos Revenge (Garrett & Ojelay Remix)
11. Nause - Made Of (Original Mix)
12. Rasmus Faber Feat. Thomas Eby - Oye (Club Mix)

Hello Again,

After a week off from the studio mixgeselle is back at work - and because I got so many great tracks (almost enough for two shows!) it was hard to decide what to spin for you this time. I am happy with the result, hope youll enjoy too.

Some big names made it into the show like Cascada and their new single “San Francisco” (what a beautiful city!), the Swedish House Mafia or the third single release from Sophie Ellis-Bextors upcoming forth studio album “Make a Scene“, remixed by Hed Kandi A&R and resident DJ Carl Hanaghan.

“Bright Lights Bigger City“, a song by American singer-songwriter, rapper and record producer Cee Lo Green (best known for his work within the hip hop duo Gnarls Barkley and their 2006 worldwide hit “Crazy“), got an excellent Disco remix by UK house music production duo Shapeshifters, their best work I listened to in years. A must-have for disco house fans!

The Gibson Brothers are a musical group from Martinique (based in France) who had a couple of disco hits in the late 70s and early 80s. Their first bigger chart success from 1979 called “Cuba” got an latin update by Dutch DJ Robert Abigail and DJ Rebel from Belgium.

The Tracklist:
1. Cascada - San Francisco (Cahill Club Mix)

The Retro Track:
2. Robert Abigail & DJ Rebel Ft. The Gibson Brothers - Cuba (Extended Mix)

3. Charles Simmons - Never Gonna Give You Up (Niels Van Gogh & Daniel Strauss Remix)

DJs Favourite This Weekend

4. Cee Lo Green - Bright Lights Bigger City (The Shapeshifters Heavy Disco Remix)

5. Carol Hahn - Do Your Best (Ranch Halo Club Mix)
6. Phattucini Bros. - Lovin You (Doc Phatt Mix)
7. Selena Gomez - Who Says (Bimbo Jones Club mix)
8. Nick Jay Ft. Toni Sea - Dont Wanna (Bassmonkeys Club Remix)
9. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Starlight (Carl Hanaghan Remix)
10. Swedish House Mafia Ft. John Martin - Save The World (Original Extended Mix)
11. Carl Fath & Starchaser Ft. Rebecca Knight - 39 Move On Up (Classic Mix)
12. Linda Clifford - Baby Im Yours (Georgies House Culture Mix)
