Hi Weekenders,

The waves of talented French producers keep coming. Norman Doray is at the vanguard of the current generation, making his way forward with tracks like “Tobita“, “Chase The Sun” and “Tweet It” as well as remixes for artists as diverse as Dirty South and Toni Braxton. Doray’s original mix of “Kalifornia“, produced specially for the mix compilation “Norman Doray presents Strictly Ibiza” to Amsterdam, is a big, brash, high powered groove that revolves around a feelgood disco strings loop. My favourite this weekend.

The retro has been originally released by R&B dance group Indeep in 1982. “Last Night A DJ Saved My Life” was a top twenty hit in the U.K. and reached number ten on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. Check out the great new disco house version by Jaques Raupe Vs. Daniel Pele.

What a year it’s been for Wynter Gordon! With two hit singles under her belt in the form of the ARIA #1 “Dirty Talk” and the equally impressive follow up “Til Death“, not to mention her knockout performances at Creamfields & Mardi Gras - Wynter brings us the third single to be lifted off her stunning debut album - the Axwell produced pop gem “Buy My Love“. On the remix: Crazibiza, a new project of two Hungarian musicians Tommyboy and Agebea. Excellent job!

Hello Weekenders,

After a great week at Ibiza I went back into the studio to work on a new show which is heavily influenced by a awesome night I spend at the glamorous Es Paradis club where I enjoyed the fabulous “Disco’s Revenge” party by UK-based record label and music brand Hed Kandi. Closing party this weekend, but if you are not on the island to check out yourself - no problem, tune in this weekend and you will get lots of disco samples, fresh French House and brand new funky tracks Hed Kandi style…

Spawned under an endless love for seventies disco and eighties boogie twisted into a modern day house sound, Carl Crème has been heavily influenced in life by his heroes Armand Van Helden, Daft Punk, Alan Braxe and Jean-Claude Van Damme. It’s not often that a debut record from a new artist is as big as this. “My Lovin” is the crème de la crème of modern day disco house. My favourite this weekend!

In 2005 the Freemasons had a big club and radio hit with “Love On My Mind” sampling Jackie Moore’s 1979 disco hit “This Time Baby“, a No.1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Music/Club Play Chart. DJ/Producer Albino from Bosnia & Herzegovina and DJ Imanos from Canada came together to create a new Disco House banger that samples Jackie’s classic again. Very well done!

Time for another Fedde le Grand anthem! The Dutch master is back on Toolroom Records with a dance floor shaker that blew the roof off the Space Ibiza Terrazza at Toolroom Knights. “So Much Love” is a pure crowd pleaser, with an infectious, instantly recognisable vocal hook.

Hello Again,

It’s autumn here in Europe and although there is plenty of sun in the forecast here in Germany for this weekend the nights are already pretty cold - one more reason to heat things up with more uplifting quality music!

The masters of commercial house remixes Moto Blanco are kicking off the show in style with their take on “I Need” by Maverick Sabre, a new force in urban soul music in the U.K.. Look out for Maverick Sabre’s brilliant debut album, “Lonely Are the Brave“, set for release January 2012.

Track No.2 is my favourite this weekend: In twelve years, Mike La Funk from Berlin, Germany has audibly left his mark on the German house scene and is today regarded as one of its icons. His name stands for highest credibility, crazy skills – and above all for a unique mixture of deep and soulful house music. For his forthcoming release he teamed up with vocalist Corey Andrew - “Music Is Life” is his uplifting declaration of love dedicated to the music. 10/10!

The retro track takes us back into the disco area. “Ring My Bell” by American singer Anita Ward reached number one in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom in 1979 and has been remixed and released countless times, as well as covered by numerous artists since its original release. Enjoy some Disco House by Adrian Villaverde from Puerto Rico who used samples of Anita’s classic for his release called “Ring It“.

Hello Friends,

Let me take you back in time a couple of times this weekend, as example with Alex Kenji & David Jones who are sampling “High On Emotion” by Chris De Burgh or DJ Favorite with an excellent Jamie Sparks on vocals and their version of “September”, originally released by Earth, Wind & Fire. In 1985 Madonna released her first single from her second studio album “Like A Virgin” called “Dress You Up“, a Top Ten in the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. Liam Keegan updated the track perfectly for us - excellent song to kick off this weekend!

A brand new exciting collaboration made it into the show - Italian producers DJ’s From Mars and German dance act Fragma came together to create a track that sticks in my head like glue: “Insane In The Brain“. On remix duty from France: Muttonheads.

My favourite this weekend is coming from Italy too, news from Hernandez Vs DJ Tyo (aka Donati and Amato) with Riccardo Gava called “Take Me There“. It’s a true flashback. This amazing track take us right there… back to funky bass era, to the important female vocal parts. All this inserted in a very fresh and absolutely actual design. 100% party house - highly recommended!

Hello Weekenders,

Time to kick off a new weekend, as example with a retro: almost one year ago the Oxford Hustllers covered Sunscreem’s 1992 chart success “Love U More” for a Fierce Angels sampler. A new version by Jade Williams aka Sunday Girl is now available and you will get the Buzz Junkies remix this time. More retros available? Of course! Audio Jacker samples Jermaine Stewart’s “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off” and DJ Chus produced “A Night Summer Dream” with the help of “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie.

My favourite track from David Guetta’s new album “Nothing But The Beat” is his collaboration with Usher on “Without You“. Some critics call it “cheesy” but I think that it is simply a excellent radio friendly melodic dance pop track. Don’t like the remixes, so you will get the Original extended.

Over the years the word “Anthem” is often used to label a track, very few stand up to that moniker, certainly not a title to be used loosely. Once in a blue moon a production comes along that automatically associates itself with that much sought after word. Out soon on Phonetic Recordings: Ruff Loaderz, a House project from London/UK and The Hayman, who already remixed for M-People, Jamiroquai and Cc Peniston with a instrumental that will seriously damage the dancefloors, simply called - “Anthem“! My favourite this weekend.

It is time to say thanks a lot to all the labels, artists and producers who are supporting the show with the best and latest music available! Got so many excellent tracks - some of them exclusive for the Weekend Warm Up - that it was hard to choose only one favourite for this weekend.

Thank you Hed Kandi for delivering a EP called “The Peacocking” by Garrett & Ojelay with two solid Disco House tracks, I picked “Do It Right” to go on air this weekend.

Thanks to Daz Bailey for the chance to add his brand new uplifting and melodic instrumental “Comin’ Home” to the set. A vocal version is on the way as well - can’t wait! Thanks to Debo & Mezo for their progressive vocal house track “Living It Up”, perfectly remixed by Sylvane aka Lenny B.. And finally thanks to Club Luxury Records, Elektrik Disko from New Zealand and the always wonderful Katherine Ellis on vocals for giving us one of the best funky house track I heard in a long time called “Nothing But Love“.
