Hi Weekenders,
June already… the summer is back for us here in Europe. Finally. Lovin it! Enjoy the start into the summer with the Weekend Warm Up and some hot new Vocal, Disco and Funky House! And if it is winter time in your part of the world simply heat things up with the show…

Disco House is coming from Frida (”Ill Be There“) and from 2 DJs and producer from around the corner where I live, the Funky Chicos and their “Girls In Love“. Lets take it back to the old school!

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 196 June 10th/11th 2011

Hello Friends,

the second June weekend starts in Italy with one of my favourite Italian producers / DJ's Samuele Sartini and the wonderful Katherine Ellis on vocals. “Jumping” is a nice uplifting track that reminds me on a 2000 release by Sunkidz ("Rise Up").

Well stay in Italy for the retro, “Azzuro” was a No.1 hit in Italy and a German Top Ten in 1968 for Milan born singer, songwriter, actor and comedian Adriano Celentano. The 2011 update is coming from the Italian House Mafia which are the DJs Alessandro Agus, HousAlex a.k.a. Alex F and Andrea Stravagal.

My favourite this week is the new Kylie Minogue single “Put Your hands Up (If You Feel Love)” which got good remixes by Bimbo Jones and Nervo, but the best take is coming from Belgiums Basto!. Highly recommended…

The Tracklist:
1. Samuele Sartini Ft. Katherine Ellis - Jumping (Original Extended Mix)

DJs Favourite This Week
4. Kylie Minogue - Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) (Bastos Major Mayhem Mix)

5. ASBO Feat. Katherine Ellis - Let The Beat Hit ‘Em (Extended Mix)

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 198 June 24th/25th 2011

Hello Again,

Berlin based Marc Van Linden started his DJ & producer career back in 1996 where he was signed to various German independent labels but the past couple of years his career has made huge leaps forward enabling him to play many events in the A-league with such DJs as Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Eric Prydz, Mauro Picotto, Carl Cox and many other major league DJs. For his latest release he teamed up with Amande Wilson to produce an extra catchy Vocal House track called “Gotta Let You Go“. My favourite this weekend!

For the retro we are going back into the year 1982 when Carly Simon recorded a song called “Why” for the movie “Soup For One”. Bad movie but successful soundtrack. “Why” became quite a huge hit in Europe, hitting #10 in the UK and Germany and staying on the British charts for 18 weeks. London based trio SoundGirl released their version of this song as their second single, on the remix: Ian Carey.

And you will get many more excellent songs like a new Original from one of the most successful remix teams Cahill. For “In Case I Fall” they got some help from singer/songwriter and former Deepest Blue member Joel Edwards on vocals. Big room house is coming from Eric Morillo and Eddie Thoneick with awesome vocals from Shawnee Taylor on “Stronger”. And on “Breaking Away” Offer Nissim samples one of my favourite from the 70s: "Cant Give You Anything” by Philadelphia soul group The Stylistics.

The Tracklist:
1. InnerPartySystem - Not Getting Better (Dave Aude Club Mix)

DJs Favourite This Weekend
2. Marc Van Linden Feat. Amanda Wilson - Gotta Let You Go (Extended Mix)

3. Dalal - Taste The Night (Moto Blanco Club Mix)
4. Audio Jacker - Wow (Original Mix)
5. Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick Feat. Shawnee Taylor - Stronger (Original Mix)

The Retro Track
6. SoundGirl - Dont Know Why (Ian Carey Extended Mix)

7. RLP Feat. Barbara Tucker - Respect (Original Mix)
8. Molella & Supafly Inc - X Rated (Molella Mix)
9. Offer Nissim Ft. Maya - Breaking Away (Original Mix)
10. Cahill Ft. Joel Edwards - In Case I Fall (Club Mix)
11. Parade - Perfume (Wideboys Extended Mix)
12. Florrie - I Took A Little Something (Loverush UK Extended Mix)

Hey Weekenders,
Lets start the first July weekend with a genre I usually do not play, but the Myon and Shane 54 trance remix of “Promises” by Andain is so catchy that it makes you wanna dance for sure. The Allstars is a collaboration between DJ/producer CZR and Keith “Malik” Mayberry (The Outhere Brothers), their track “Tonight” ft. The Wood got a perfect remix treatment by Alex Gaudino (“Im In Love” / “What A Feeling“) and Jason Rooney. Works on the radio as well as on dancefloors. Excellent, my favourite!

Hello Again,

My favourite is kicking off the weekend this time. For the fifth single “Feels So Good” taken from dutch superstar Armin Van Buurens latest album “Mirage” he invited the vocal queen of EDM, Nadia Ali and Germanys Jerome Isma-Ae to work on a bouncy progressive house remix. I am loving the result - 10/10!

Marc JB has over 40 no.1 chart hits across the US and UK to his credit with his remix team Bimbo Jones including a national no.1 in the UK co-producing Mecks “Thunder In My Heart“. For his latest solo release “Let It Go” he teamed up with U.K. songwriter and In demand vocalist Rita Campbell. The result: a solid, catchy track with quality vocals as always from Rita, highly recommended!

It was in 1980 when U.S. funk/soul/disco group Kool & The Gang had a Billboard Hot100 No.1 and U.K. Top Ten hit with “Celebration“. Two top producers from Belgium - GuyDo and DJ Rebel - took the track a made a feel good remake with the help of M.O. on vocals and Ian Prada on the remix. The retro track this weekend.

Hi Weekenders,

There is plenty to enjoy this weekend so please tune in! You will get Aviciis new track “Fade In To Darkness” and Leona Lewis first new song called “Collide” to be heard since the release of her Number 1 album ‘Echo‘ in 2009. What surprises me: both are using the same piano riff you might know from Aviciis instrumental “Penguin“. Do I smell trouble here??

Check out both tracks and let me know which one you like better - Avicii or Leona? EMail me: mixgeselle@gmail.com - or get in touch on www.facebook.com/mixgeselle!

My favourite is coming from Hed Kandi residents Garrett & Ojelay with Nicole Tyler on vocals. I am so happy to finally have uplifting, funky feelgood vocal house back on air. “Love You Too Much” is a massive summer anthem. 10/10!

My retro is finest Disco House by Rogerseventytwo (one half of TWR72) who samples a 1978 disco track by Sandy Mercer called “You Are My Love“. Amazingly, the song went unsigned for months and months until A-Trak snapped it up for Fools Gold. “You Take Me Higher” is finally ready to go from a fileshared DJ secret weapon to a true club anthem for the summer.

You also dont want to miss a brilliant new Dave Audé original (”Holdin On“) perfectly remixed by Ecotek & James Egbert, a great 2011 edit of “Learning” by first generation house producers Chocolate Puma and finally some ‘classic meets house by Athene Noelle with an epic track called “Innamorata” (”Love“), remixed by Loverush UK.

Loving all of the tracks this weekend and I think you will too. Enjoy!

The Tracklist:

1. Abel The Kid & Keylanders Feat. Noemy - El Sol (Extended Mix)
2. Anthony El Mejor & DJ Nil Feat. Talya El Mejor - In Your Eyes (Youll See) (Original Mix)

DJs Favourite This Week

4. Morgan Page, Sultan, Ned Shepard, & BT Ft. Angela McCluskey - In The Air (Extended Vox Mix)

Mark Doyles record label Fierce Angel is celebrating 5 fabulous years in business with an amazing new partner, the legendary label Strictly Rhythm! The first release to benefit from this relationship is the new compilation from Ibizas hippest hotel Es Vive which celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year.

Two tracks from this compilation made it into the show this weekend: Soraya Vivian and production outfit Digital 96 with a cover of a disco classic by Lenny Williams “When Im Dancin‘”, remixed by Oxford Hustlers. And my favourite this weekend, the perfect Bassmonkeys take on Bonnie Baileys wonderful new song “The Little Things“. Love love love this track…

One of Grace Jones biggest hits was the second single release from her 1981 commercial breakthrough album “Nightclubbing“. The 2011 update of “Pull Up To The Bumper” is coming from Dionigi & Simon Faz with Dany L on vocals.

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 204 August 5th/6th 2011

Hi Weekenders,

Do you know what happened on a 5th of August? In 1914 the first electric traffic signal was installed, in 1962 Marilyn Monroe was found dead. A 6th of August 1991 marked the debut of the “World Wide Web,” announced by computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee. And on the weekend 5th/6th of August 2011 a new Noel G. release will see the light of the world on the Weekend Warm Up Show!

New Jersey, USA based Noel G. topped radio charts with his debut single “Cant Stop” and in November 2010 “Seasons“, a collaboration with vocalist Darren Starkey, became my track of the week. Now he is back with Tommy Nibbs on vocals on his new track called “Live Forever“, available soon on Soltrenz Records.

The multi-talented U.S. singer and performer Robert Williamson amarks his explosive emergence on the international dance club scene as a solo dance artist with the release of his highly anticipated debut single “Trapped“, a cover of the signature song of Detroit born and New York City raised house and urban musician Colonel Abrams. Released in 1985, “Trapped” has been a Top Ten chart success in the U.K. and the Netherlands and the song made it also on No. 1 at the U.S. Dance Charts.

I know that you enjoy the retros - and youll get one more, DJ Steven Uttridge and Ben Wicks are sampling Steve Winwoods 1980 chart success “While You See A Chance“. This track is massive and has everything to become huge on dancefloors worldwide!

My favourite is a brand new remix for a forthcoming Hed Kandi summer sampler. Dutch Hed Kandi resident, Steven Quarre teamed up with his studio partner, Morris Mavado, to deliver a fresh new sound to the Hed Kandi anthem from Moony, “I Dont Know Why“. This ones currently receiving massive support worldwide - excellent!

The Tracklist:
1. Fredrik Nyberg - Breaking Up (Don & Palm Extended Mix)
2. Jigen Boyz - Im The One (Extended Mix)
3. Fonzerelli - Moonlight Party 2011 (Extended Radio Mix)

The Retro Track
4. Robert Williamson - Trapped (Super Stylers Club A JB Mix)

5. Leona Lewis - Collide (Cahill Mix)
6. Patrick Hagenaar Feat. Wray - Double Kross (Original Mix)
7. Take Off - Try (Original Mix)
8. Peyton - Never Can Say Goodbye (EK Beach Mix)
9. DJ Steven Uttridge & Ben Wicks - See A Chance (Club Mix)
10. Hold On To Peace - Make It Bout Love (G Cavelle Project House Mix)

DJs Favourite This Week
11. Moony - Dont Know Why (Steven Quarre & Morris Mavado Remix)

12. Noel G. Feat Tommie Nibbs - Live Forever (Original Club Mix)

Hi again,
Welcome to another trip to dancefloors around the world! The first track is taking us to Italy where The Relight Orchestra with Melanie on vocals covers the 1994 Gloria Estefan release “Turn The Beat Around“. Check out the 2011 versions released on Milanolab now, I am going for the funky one (of course!) by Robert Eno, Montana & Lanzetta.

For my favourite we are going to San Francisco, California where Kaskade released his latest single “Eyes” with the wonderful Mindy Gledhill on vocals. He did it again - this is simply awesome melodic and emotional house music. Perfection!

Well also visit Tokyo, Japan and Mitomi Tokoto who made a killer big room remix for MYNC, Ron Carroll and Don Castro and their forthcoming Cr2 release “Dont Be Afraid“, a track that was widely regarded as one of the biggest tunes of the 2011 Miami Winter Music Conference - usually a good indication of potential worldwide dancefloor and crossover success!

More hot and new tracks are coming from New Zealands Jolyon Petch and Sam Hill vs Th Dudes, from Poland by Wawa and a nice summer track sampling “Bamboleo” by French/Spanish flamenco pop band Gipsy Kings. And we will listen to the return of dance-pop and hip hop group C & C Music Factory featuring Scarlett Santana and their new track “Rain“. Enjoy!

Hello,

Some big names are warming up your weekend this time, pop remixes by Dave Audé for former Pussycat Doll Jessica Sutta, a Bimbo Jones take on Jennifer Hudsons latest single and a brilliant The Alias remix of “Jealousy” by Will Young will go on air. The Groovesplitters remix for “Sporty Spice” Melanie C and her new release “Think About It” is my favourite this weekend - its all about the bassline… Perfect!

Uplifting house is back: Steve Hanley, Frej Johnson & Morgan Jonasson are Stockholm Disco, based in Spain and Sweden. This production outfit is all about feel good vocal house music destined for the dancefloor! For their new track “Cant Come Down“, released on Pacha Recordings Eivissa, they teamed up with one of House musics leading female vocalists Kaysee.

The retro charted at No.4 in 1996 in the U.K. - “Theres Nothing I Wont Do” with the lovely Shena on vocals was the fourth Top Twenty hit for Jake Williams better know as JX. On air this weekend: the 2011 Cyber Club cover, remixed by Super Stylers, a remix duo based in Portsmouth, UK.

Hello Friends, what can I say about my favourite? What I do know, is that the song comes from french production outfit 'The Phantoms Revenge', that they released an EP called “Charlie” in December 2010 including a Disco House track with the same name, and that this song has a fabulous remix treatment now by Australias Vandalism. The track is BIG fun god damnit! 10/10!

For the retro we are going back into the year 1980 when Stevie Wonder released his nineteenth album “Hotter Than July” including some classics like “Master Blaster” or “Happy Birthday” as well as the self penned “All I Do“, a song that saw the light of the world for the first time in 1966 already sung by Tammi Terrell. Check out the brilliant cover by Jolyon Petch from New Zealand with the help of Marqueal Jordon on vocals.

And you will listen to more fresh music: Georgie Porgie returns with a huge party anthem called “Go Bang“, Erasure are back with an uplifting remix by Steve Smart and WestFunk, DJ Favourites “Feeling The Vibe” is brilliant Vocal House (loving Anton Orfs remix and the vocals by Jamie Sparks!) and finally you will enjoy the debut single of DEVolution (Pete Devereux and Tom Devos) remixed by Kat Krazy.

Plenty of brand new quality dance music - tune in please and kick start the weekend with mixgeselle!

Mixgeselle - Weekend Warm Up Show 208 September 2nd/3rd 2011

Hey Weekenders,

The first September weekend will hopefully be a relaxed party weekend for all of us after “Irene” and the mess she caused in some parts of the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean countries. I wanna kick off the party with some happy and funky dancepop by British soul and R&B singer Beverly Knight and her new single “Cuddly Toy“, a Roachford cover, remixed by Richard Cutmore. Get up and dance!

No, the 23 years old “Cuddly Toy” is not my retro, we will going back into the year 1979 for the retro with The Disco Boys and their remix of “Hold The Line” by Toto. It was their first big chart success, a Top 5 in the U.S. and on No.12 in the U.K..

The excellent relaxed and chilled “Good Times Come Back” by Sweden’s Rasmus Faber and 22 year old soul/jazz singer Beldina is pure summer house. In my iPod tracklist for my next Ibiza trip… Track of the week!

The Tracklist:
1. Beverly Knight - Cuddly Toy (Cutmore Club Mix)
2. Betsie Larkin Ft. Super8 & Tab - All We Have Is Now (Soulshaker Club Mix)
3. Alex Lamb Ft. Easton Davis - So Good (Original Mix)
4. Cee Lo Green - Cry Baby (Moto Blanco Club Mix)
5. Sara Parker - Something On The DJ (Rachel Ellektras Classic Piano Mix)
6. Milkbar Rockers - The Walls (Extended Mix)
7. Dr. Dapper - Sun Goes Down (Vocal Club Mix)

The Retro Track
8. The Disco Boys Ft. Toto - Hold The Line (Extended Mix)

9. Jes - It’s Too Late (Coco Channel Remix)

DJ’s Favorite This Week
10. Rasmus Faber Ft. Beldina - Good Times Come Back (Vocal Mix)

11. Groove Addix Feat. Annette Taylor - Burned Out (Original House)
